The Otomi Indians of the community of San Pablo el Grande, in Tenango de Doria, in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, make hand-embroidered blankets, called tenangos.
Their colorful designs are said to be inspired by the murals that adorn the region's caves. The textiles usually have bright colors and depict scenes from everyday life, flowers and fantastical animals.
